Cuban boxer Dayron Lester (FIN) on his way to the top
We all do know that Cuban boxers are something special. They do have the culture of this Noble Art of Self-defence on the island. At the Olympic Games and Amateur Championships we do always find Cuba represented.
In Finland we do even find a young promising Cuban boxer, his name is Dayron Lester. Dayron Lester has as a professional boxer a record of 11-1-0 and he is fighting in light heavyweight.
On Boxrec Lester is ranked #73 in the world.
Hopefully we will get to see some attractive fights with Dayron in the near future. As he´s living in Finland it´s not a far way to the events in Germany and UK.

Helenius vs Chisora II at 27.05.2017 in Helsinki
Robert Helenius (24-1, 15 KOs) looked in great shape as he met with the Finnish media today in Helsinki at an open training session ahead of his WBC Silver World Heavyweight title fight against Dereck Chisora (26-7, 18 KOs) on May 27 at the Hartwall Arena.
The 33 year-old from Porvoo holds a controversial points victory over his British rival from their all action showdown in December 2011, but having enhanced his training methods, which today included pounding a heavy bag with a picture of Chisora’s face attached, ‘The Nordic Nightmare’ believes, this time, the decision will be left in no doubt.
‘’My preparations have been excellent,’’ he said. ‘’We’ve invested heavily in endurance training, cardio activities and, of course, a lot of sparring. When I fought Duhaupas, I wasn’t focused enough, but we’ve learnt from our mistakes, and this time, we won’t leave any stone unturned. On May 27, you will see Robert 2.0 in the ring!
‘’I don’t think Chisora will have changed much over the year. I expect him to continue to come forward with his slugger style trying to land hooks. He can do that for twelve rounds, and that suits me fine, because he is going to run out of gas before I do. In the end, he will just have two options: my left hand or my right!’’
Tickets for the WBC Silver World Heavyweight title rematch between Robert Helenius and Dereck Chisora, which also features top Finnish prospects Tomi Honka and Matti Koota, are available online via http://www.ticketmaster.fi or by calling (+358) 0600 10 800.

Helenius boxing 10.09.2016 on Åland
On 10 September Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius will step into the ring again at Paf Boxing Gala in Mariehamn on Åland. His opponent will be the experienced German boxer Konstantin Airich, who has had over 40 professional fights.
– I have met Konstantin at sparring camps in Germany before and have sparred with him there, says Helenius.
Many tough matches
Konstantin Airich has had 42 professional matches in his career and has been very active in the ring in recent years. Last year Airich had six professional matches in total and this year he has already had three.
– He has had tough matches against tough opponents, among them Anthony Joshua. With all those matches he’s sure to be in good shape. It will certainly be a good fight for me facing him, says Helenius.
Height advantage
Helenius has already thought about how he wants to beat his opponent.
– It will be a tough and exciting match, I think. I’ll keep to my own boxing style and show off a better version of myself than last time. I’ll make sure to make use of my height and keep him at a distance, says Helenius.
Time for action
Helenius doesn’t mince his words when he explains how important this match in Mariehamn will be for him.
– I want to show everyone that I’m back after my loss in April and that this match is another step forward. And I even want to show myself that I’m back and continuing towards my goal of becoming world champion, says Helenius.
Paf Boxing Gala is being arranged in Mariehamn on Åland. Click here for more information about tickets and the event.
