Nielsen to defend WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Title against Patrick “The Tiger” Mendy in Esbjerg on Feb 9
WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen (17-0, 8 KOs) will take on Patrick Mendy (14-5, 1 KO) at the Nordic Fight Night in Esbjerg on February 9. The “Tiger”, as he is known to his fans in the UK, made himself a name in 2010 when he became the youngest-ever winner of the popular Prizefighter tournament. Two years later, he boasts a record of 14 wins and five defeats. “I am coming to Denmark to destroy Nielsen,” he said. “I am Patrick “The Tiger” Mendy, I will cut Nielsen everywhere and leave my mark on his face!”
Nielsen has laughed off Mendy`s fight talk. “I have heard a lot of rubbish from my opponents before fights,” he said. “This one guy, Gaston Vega, even wore a slayer-shirt at the press conference. At the end of the day, it was always them in the dust, not me. It will be the same with Mendy. He´s going down, like all of my opponents before him.”
Neither Nielsen nor Mendy will have a peaceful Christmas time. “Right now Micki and I are training in Denmark, we are working extremely hard. We will stay in Copenhagen until the new year and then go to training camp in Guestrow. We will have a little Christmas party with our family but unfortunately I can´t touch all the delicious food. I need to be in perfect shape in Esbjerg because I want to give the fans at Blue Water Dokken a very special fight.”
Mendy said: “There will be no Christmas for me, I only train, that´s what fighters do, train all the time. This is a very important fight for me, I am coming to take Nielsen´s title and that is what I am training for.”
Promoter Nisse Sauerland is excited about the clash. “I think this will be a very interesting fight. They are young, a 21-year-old versus a 22-year-old, they are hot-blooded, they have both enjoyed some early success in their careers and once the bell goes I am sure they will jump at each other. It will be an exciting main event for the Nordic Fight Night at Blue Water Dokken.”
More fights will be announced shortly. Norwegian Featherweight Andreas Evensen (17-2-1, 6 KOs) will challenge European Champion Alexander Miskirtchian (21-2-1, 7 KOs). Tickets for the first Nordic Fight Night of 2013 are available at billetten.dk.

Patrick Bogere in LA
The brilliant boxer Patrick Bogere is preparing Manny Pacquiao in Los Angels for his next fight. Patrick Bogere, welterweight, 11(3)-1-0, is ranked 98 at boxrec. He will do his next fight in Sweden at 16.112012.
Wally Munteanu, coach and manager of Patrick, think it will be the last fight for Patrick in Sweden, because of the regulations of professional boxing in Sweden. It seems like America is waiting of Patrick.
At the team of Wally Munteanu we do even find excellent boxers like Frida Wallberg.

Patrick Bogere will do sparring with Manny Pacquiao!
Patrick Bogere has been for 10 days in Las Vegas. He visited Mayweather´s Gym and had even patch-work with Floyd Mayweather Sr. The americans saw what a great talent Patrick is, so after just arriving back to Gothenburg, Sweden, he will on sunday go to Los Angeles, because he got an invitation:
Making 2 weeks spar with Manny Pacquiao!
Patrick´s manager Wally Munteanu think it will not be anymore bouts with Patrick in Sweden, depending on the rules to not allow more then 6 rounds for his next fight. In Sweden professional boxing was forbidden, but became permitted in 2008, but with maximum of 4 rounds. Exceptions can be given, i.e. titlebouts.
Next time Patrick Bogere will fight is

Skoglund will meet Marusi at 10.11.2012 in Helsinki
Now the opponent for Erik Skoglund has been named. It will be the hungarian Gyorgy Marusi, 16(9)-6(4)-0. At 14.09.2012 Marosi lost on knockout in round 3 against super middleweight Ünsal Arik in Halle/Saale.
Marusi is ranked #211 at boxrec. Seems to be the 13th win for Erik, if he is doing his job right. Maybe the 7th KO?
Erik Skoglund is convinced that 13 will not be an unlucky number for him as he chases his next victory. The rising Swedish light heavyweight, who has won all 12 of his professional fights thus far (6 KOs), will take on Hungary´s Gyorgi Marosi (16-6, 9 KOs) at the Nordic Fight Night in Helsinki on November 10. “I know that a lot of athletes are superstitious and believe that the 13 is cursed,” Skoglund said. “They don´t wear jerseys with the number 13 on the back or prefer not to fight if the Friday falls on the 13th of a month. To me, that is rubbish. I am not superstitious at all. I only believe in hard work, determination, skills and power. I know that I am better than Marosi in all four categories and that is why I will take him out on November 10.”
Returning to Finland will be special for Skoglund. “I have good memories of Helsinki,” Skoglund said. “I made my first fight after I broke my jaw at Hartwall Areena last December. Of course, I was a little nervous, but everything turned out fine. Now I am back, I´ve become much stronger in the last year, and I will give the fans a good taste of my power on November 10.”
In the main event of the night, Robert Helenius (17-0, 11 KOs), who was born in Sweden and raised in Finland, will put his unbeaten record on the line against Sherman “The Tank” Williams. Tickets for the November 10 show at Helsingin Jäähalli can be purchased at http://www.lippupalvelu.fi.
