Comments from official Frank Warren´s homepage:
Fight 7)  Billy Joe Saunders v Matthew Hall – The British & Commonwealth Middleweight Championships
This evening’s main event sees fast-rising star Billy Joe Saunders defend his British and Commonwealth Middleweight titles against Matthew Hall in an exciting showdown of boxer versus puncher. Saunders with a strong start in the second, connecting a solid left on Hall’s cheek. Hall retaliates with some body shots, but doen’t affect Saunders. Saunders with a flurry of shots looks to put Hall at risk but he continues to battle on. Saunders draws blood from Hall’s nose, but Hall seems unscathed and connects with a couple of well-aimed body shots. Hall gets pounded with a slick combination by Saunders and loses his gumshield in the process. Hall is fierce and catches Saunders with a few at the end of the 6th. Both come out flying in the 7th – the most power and intensity that we’ve seen so far – good round! Saunders picks off Hall in the 9th with a good combination. There’s a light failure in the middle of the round, but boxing continues unaffected. Round 10 – lights on. Hall is going to have to find something special to turn this around – Saunders winning comfortably on points at the moment it would seem. Four huge right hands from Saunders makes Hall’s position dangers. Saunders throws everything at Hall’s body, but Hall stays standing; Saunders looks exhausted, but it’s been a big, big round for him. Final round to go, and Hall has to look for a knockout. And it’s down to the judges…

Saunders UD – 119-110, 120-108, 120-109
Fight 6)  Bradley Skeete v Peter McDonagh – The Southern Area Welterweight Championship
A rematch for these two – McDonagh is given the chance to become three-weight Southern Area Champion, whilst Skeete makes his first defence of the title. Skeete puts in some big hits, but McDonagh responds with some of his own. This is a good scrap and a competitive contest, but Skeete uses his extra height and reach to get behind the jab with some good footwork. Skeete getting sucked in close instead of using his jab – he needs to slow down and control the pace better. Skeete comes into the eigth better composed and connects with McDonagh’s jaw with a left jab. Gets a bit messy with McDonagh being spoken to on a couple of occasions. The referee’s had enough – McDonagh is docked a point in the 9th. A final battle in the 10th leaves the result down to the referee.

Skeete PTS 100-90
Fight 5)  Paul Butler v Anwar Al Fadi – 4×3 Minute Rounds Super-Flyweight Contest
Butler dominates in the first two rounds, but Al Fadi continues to throw punches back connecting on Butler’s torso on a couple of occasions. However Butler’s height and reach gives him a clear advantage as he connects with some solid jabs. Butler throws some solid combinations in the fourth. WOW. A crippling left hand from Butler at 2:46 floors Al Fadi; the paramedics rush into the ring to his aid. What. A. Punch!

Butler TKO 4
Fight 4)  Tom Baker v Jason Ball – 4×3 Minute Rounds Middleweight Contest
Baker doing the better work, looking strong at the weight. Ball looking a bit vacant but still holding himself and trying to push forwards. Ball isn’t throwing enough punches to score him points. The taller Baker makes use of his long reach with the jab to take the win.

Baker PTS, 40-37
Fight 3)  Billy Morgan v Dan Carr – 6×2 Minute Rounds Lightweight Contest
Slight confusion at the beginning of the bout – fighting 6×2 Minute rounds instead of the 8×2 Minute Rounds announced. Morgan looks strong, pushing forward onto his opposition and unleashing some powerful jabs.

Morgan PTS, 60-55
Fight 2)  Simon Vallily v Simeon Cover – 4×3 Minute Rounds Cruiserweight Contest
Simon Vallily makes his pro debut at Cruiserweight – ABA champion in 2009 and Commonwealth Games winner as an amateur. He could really make a big impression fast in a domestic division that is ready for the taking! Valilly looked strong, letting his hands go at every opportunity trying to force a stoppage. Cover by name, Cover by nature, with his hands up employing survival tactics throughout – manages to avoid being stopped.

Vallily PTS, 40-36
Fight 1)  John Dignum v Kieron Gray – 4×3 Minute Rounds Super-Middleweight Contest
Dignum PTS, 40-36

Froch vs. Kessler II is on

– Stunning super middleweight blockbuster rematch agreed-

Matchroom Sport and Team Sauerland are delighted to announce that Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler will fight in Britain.
The huge super middleweight rematch is the fight of the year in boxing and the two sides are delighted that terms have been agreed on the biggest fight on British soil in many years.
Full details on the fight will be announced at a press conference soon, and both fighters have expressed their delight that they will once again lock horns.

„First and foremost, I’m really pleased the fight has finally been arranged,” said Froch. “I feared that Kessler had second thoughts about his promise – but the man has come good on his word.

„Our first fight was pure warfare. We went at each other for every minute of every round and the rematch promises to be even more fiercely contested. I seriously wish I was ringside myself for this fight, because I’m gunning for revenge at all costs and the fight fans are in for a real treat.

„He is a class act both inside and outside the ropes. We are cut from the same cloth and we will be friends yet again after the fight. But the moment I heard the fight was done on the telephone, I was completely switched on and he was the focus of my mind. I can’t wait to get back into camp for this one. I’ve never felt so motivated.

„If Mikkel thinks he saw the best of me in Denmark then he is in for a rude awakening. I give him the utmost respect that he has the guts to board that plane and come collect a serious whooping at the hands of the Cobra – let’s bring it on!”

“I promised Carl we would meet again and here we are, getting ready to leave it all in the ring for a second time,” said Kessler.
“I have the utmost of respect for Carl, I feel we are very much alike. He is a great champion, a true warrior that has fought the best opponents all over the world in some of the most hostile places, just like me. Our first fight, especially the last round, showed what we are all about . Let´s do it again.

“Since that first fight, I have become even stronger. I am fresh, I am healthy and I am ready to defeat him once again. I don´t care where we fight, I said anytime, anywhere! I plan to make my loyal Viking fans, as well as everybody else in Denmark, very proud once again. I am ready for war!”

”This is one for the ages,” said Froch’s promoter Eddie Hearn. ”My hat goes off to both men for putting everything on the line here in what can only be an epic battle. Too many super fights fall by the wayside so to make Froch v Kessler 2 is a dream come true.

”Froch vs. Kessler 1 was a barnburner but I really feel Carl is a different fighter now, especially in the UK. These are the kinds of fights and nights that can cement the legacy of Carl Froch and no one deserves it more. We know what to expect from both men and either way it’s going to be brutal.”

“Kessler vs. Froch I was an instant classic, the best fight ever on Danish soil – Kessler vs. Froch II will be even better,” said Kessler’s promoter Kalle Sauerland. ”Mikkel and Carl are two all-time greats, two future hall-of-famers and they will leave it all in the ring once again.
“We have worked non-stop since Mikkel´s victory over Brian Magee to make this fight happen and give the boxing fans in Denmark, Britain and all over the world what they want to see – a mega-fight that will go down in boxing history.

“Kessler versus Froch, the Viking Warrior versus the Cobra, the WBA Champ versus the IBF Champ, Copenhagen versus Nottingham, Denmark versus England. This is all about honour, pride and sportsmanship. It´s history in the making. This is what boxing is all about and what boxing needs, two true warriors toe-to-toe.
“This fight will be remembered for years to come. The Viking Warrior is coming to England for war!”
