Prize Boxing Promotions show Home of Champions was a further success of Promoter Demis Tonna’s work. It was a well-organized event, again!, and the security had no problems with the loud audience. 1200 spectator at this sold-out event could join a good quality of The Nobel Art of Self-defense in Dolmen Hotel, Bugibba. No violence happened, only in the ring was fights going on.
Demis Tonna told that his events Rumble in the Med has been sold-out many times and now it is time to find a bigger place. Boxing has came to Malta to stay!
Eight fights as semi-pro before the two professional fights was on the fight-card. Before the fights started it was two exhibition fights. Then it was the night of knock-outs!
Richard Vella shows a dangerous punch to his very good opponent Ollie Lawrence. In every round managed Richard Vella to get his opponent knocked down and be counted. In the third round as it happened for the third time the referee Marc James had no other choice as to stop the fight. TKO in round 3 for Richard Vella after 1:15 minutes. Richard is now the WBU Semi Pro Champion. It looks like it is time for Richard Vella to switch over to be a professional boxer. He has the quality for it.
Dione Galea impressed with a KO in round 2 at 1:31 minutes!
Mark Cutajar had a hard work with the unorthodox style of Miro Jurkovic. It was obviously to see that Miro has been practiced wrestling, MMA, K1 etc before. In the 3rd and 4th round he got more used to boxing. Mark Cutajar had a heavy job to just keep the aggressive Miro away. Technical is Cutajar of a much higher level as Jurkovic. The result ended at 38-38, 40-36 and 38-38 and so it is a MD draw. Cutajar had to convince more in the last two rounds as he did, but he is even if this result doesn’t look good, much better as that. In a fight of 4×3 minutes it could be the time that Cutajar needed to get his opponent away.
Garth Galea secured to Malta the title as PBP Champion after a split decision.
Keith Azzopardi is a name to remember! He has the speed, the self-confidence and after only 1:48 min. in the first round he ended the fight for Stephen Littlewood.
Tyrone Borg needed even only 1:44 to knock-out his opponent. It is obvious that Tyrone needs better opponents as he had this time. Tyrone’s pro-career looks very promising.
The main-fight with Steve Martin vs Isaac Quartey ended after an accidental head-bull in the 6th round. So far was Super the lucky guy. His team is well-known as to be very fair and have offered Isaac a rematch as his team found their boxer to be in the front. The scorecards tells another story that Super-Steve even was going to win this fight.
