Chisora promises Haye a nightmare worse then Carl Thompson

Dereck Chisora says he’ll give David Haye a bigger nightmare than Carl Thompson did when they meet in their grudge fight next month. The Finchley scrapper takes on Haye in one of British boxing’s biggest ever fights at West Ham United’s ground on Saturday 14th July, live on BoxNation, (Sky Ch. 456, Virgin Ch. 546).

Thompson battered Haye, then a cruiserweight, into submission in 2004 inflicting the first loss to the Hayemaker’s record. Haye’s only other loss was to Wladimir Klitschko on points in July last year.

Chisora stormed, „Haye’s going to wish he was in the ring with Carl Thompson again, that was mild compared to what I’m going to be dishing out to him,“

„It’s going to be like a bad dream coming back to haunt Haye, I’ll leave him hanging on the ropes just like Thompson did,“

„I’ll be taking Haye out of the game, this will be his last fight in boxing and he can forgot about fighting any Klitschko again,“

„Wladimir played with him for twelve rounds, the difference is I’ll be punishing him for twelve rounds and giving him the worst beating he’s had. I’ll destroy him,“

„He’ll need more than one of his Hayemaker’s to stop me coming at him at night.“

Chisora says he refuses to lose to his London rival and that his pride and fighting heart will break Haye down on the night.

There’s too much pride on the line, there’s no way I’m going to lose to Haye DERECK CHISORA

„I’m going to break Haye down mentally and physically, he’s all mouth and he now knows that he’s in a real fight against me,“

„What’s he going to do when he lands his best punches and they have no effect and I’m still in his face throwing punches?“

Chisora will stop Haye, says Derek´s sparring partner

Dereck Chisora’s sparring partner says that he’ll stop rival David Haye when they clash at West Ham United’s ground on Saturday 14th July. The heavy-handed Finchley star has brought over fast rising American prospect Joe Hanks for three weeks‘ sparring at his gym to prepare for Haye.

Haye v Chisora’s WBO/WBA International Heavyweight title fight is live and exclusive in the UK on BoxNation, (Sky Ch. 456, Virgin Ch. 546).

Hanks, known as „The Future“, is unbeaten in 20 fights with 14 knockouts and has previously sparred with the Klitschko brothers, Sultan Ibragimov, Chris Byrd and Jameel McCline.

At 6ft 4in, with fast hands and feet and a big punch, he has similar attributes to former world champion Haye.

Hanks says with the way that Chisora is punching he can’t see the Hayemaker lasting.

„I’ve seen Haye, he’s very crafty and fast with a very similar style to mine and that’s what we’ve been working on with Dereck in the gym,“ Said Hanks.

„By the time the fight comes I will have racked up about 60 rounds with him over three weeks and they are really good, hard spars between two young hungry fighters,“

„I’ve sparred with Klitschkos, Ibragimov, Byrd and many other leading heavyweights and Dereck is up with those guys,“

„Watching Dereck prepare for the fight, he’s really focussed and determined to beat Haye,“

„I fancy him strongly to win. Haye’s very clever, but Dereck’s got all the tools to win and certainly the punch and power to get to him.“

Although Hanks finishes with Chisora in early July he will be watching the fight live at home in New Jersey with confirmation that the fight will be covered live in America by EPIX.

He added, „It’s a shame that I won’t be at the fight to see Dereck win after all the hard work and preparation he has put in, but it’s fantastic that EPIX will be televising the fight over here and I’ll be watching.“

Frank Warren: Haye VS Chisora: The Show Will Go On

It comes as no surprise that the EBU has taken steps to remove the Luxembourg Federation, as the Chairman/President of the British Boxing Board of Control, Charles Giles, is also the Vice-Chairman of the EBU. In addition he is the Vice-President of the World Boxing Council and it can be expected that the WBC will disassociate itself with the Luxembourg Federation.

Giles took the trouble to go to the EBU meeting held in Belgium on a long bank holiday weekend, yet he would not take the time to give evidence at Dereck Chisora’s original hearing at the BBBofC’s head office in Cardiff. He was in the very same building and despite Dereck’s barrister request to give evidence, he left out of the back door.

The EBU vote is not a fair reflection of the actual nations that voted on this matter as the BBBofC has a far larger vote on EBU decisions than any other country, because it represents more boxers than any other country. That said, the vote was cast without any consultation of the British licence holders that they are there to represent. It may well be that the Federation takes steps against the EBU, its lawyers have already written to the BBBofC to raise a complaint and are looking at the options.

Whilst the BBBofC maintains that it has no problem with the Federation licensing shows, it is difficult to understand why it would act in this way, especially without even speaking to the people it should be representing.

Both Luxembourg and the BBBofC are also affiliated with the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA) who have also sanctioned Haye v Chisora for their International and Intercontinental titles. The show will also feature the WBA Heavyweight Championship of the World between the champion Alexander Povetkin against former WBC champion Hasim Rahman.

So far 28,000 tickets have been sold for the show, with multiple reader polls supporting the fight, including the Daily Mail Online – the second largest English language news site in the world – which revealed that 71% would buy a ticket or watch the fight on BoxNation.

Even in Germany the public have voted to see the fight and a UK trade paper Boxing News poll gave it an overwhelming majority in favour.

The show is being promoted by BoxNation in association with Team Sauerland and Hayemaker Boxing Ltd and will be televised live on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 456/Virgin Ch. 546).

A full undercard announced will be announced this Wednesday.

Frank Warren Statement

Frank Warren Statement

Frank Warren: The British Boxing Board of Control had an embarrassing climb down today – withdrawing its threat to automatically terminate all of its members’ licences if they participate in the Haye v Chisora fight.

I still take the Board’s threat to call me to account for my role in the fight as Dereck Chisora’s manager as unlawful. The Board seems to have pre-judged the issue without hearing the point of view of any of its members and this is just wrong. I intend to issue proceedings next week and will support all other licence holders who feel intimidated into not participating in the Haye v Chisora promotion.

I may not be the only one suing the Board. The Board has also stopped fighters such as Kevin Mitchell, who I also manage, from fighting on the undercard. This is such a shame as Kevin was looking forward to fighting in front of the crowd at West Ham and it would have been great for the fans to see him again. He is asking the Board to re-consider and it may be forced to do so rather than face proceedings from Kevin for the purse he would have earned together with the lost opportunity to fight in front of 40,000 people.
