Rising Swedish light heavyweight Erik Skoglund (14-0, 8 KOs) will take on Hungary´s Attila Baran (11-5, 6 KOs) at the Nordic Fight Night in Esbjerg on February 9. In his first fight after signing a long-term contract extension with Team Sauerland, Skoglund is determined to continue where he left it in the last year. “2012 was great but 2013 will be even better,” Skoglund said. “I clinched seven victories and improved to 14-0 with 8 KOs. It could not have gone any better. I am keen to keep it up and I will start with a victory over Baran in Esbjerg.”
The 21-year-old is currently shaping up in training camp in Guestrow, Germany. He is joined by the Danish duo of Patrick and Micki Nielsen as well as former world champion Juergen Braehmer, who are all coached by Karsten Roewer. Braehmer will take on European Light Heavyweight Champion Eduard Gutknecht at Team Sauerland´s show in Berlin one week before the Nordic Fight Night in Esbjerg. “Training with Juergen is great,” Skoglund said. “I can learn so much from him, just by watching and studying his moves. We are putting in some very good and very exhausting training sessions and we will both be 100 percent fit for our fights.”
