Kessler vs Magee in Herning, Denmark at 8th Dec 2012

Mikkel Kessler vs Brian Magee will take part in Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning at 08.12.2012.

The WBA-title-fight in super middleweight is now official. The Boxen in Herning, Denmark, has a capacity of 15.000 spectators. In Herning Mikkel fought against Perdomo and Froch.

Kessler to face Magee for WBA Super-Middleweight World Championship in Herning on December 8th

Team Sauerland is delighted to confirm that Mikkel Kessler (45-2, 34 KOs) will challenge Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KOs) for the WBA Super-Midd

leweight World Championship at Jyske Bank BOXEN in Herning on December 8. Tickets will go on sale at BILLETnet/Ticketmaster on Monday, October 1, at 10 am. “I look forward to fighting in Herning again,” the Viking Warrior said. “The atmosphere was fantastic last time when I fought Carl Froch. The fans made the difference that night, their support really lifted me to one of my greatest victories. With their help, I will become world champion again on December 8.”

Kessler only has the best memories of Herning. In September 2009, he stopped Gusmyr Perdomo to pave his way into the Super Six World Boxing Classic. In April 2010, he then defeated WBC Super-Middleweight Champion Carl Froch in what many thought was the greatest fight ever on Danish soil. “The fans raised the roof that night,” promoter Kalle Sauerland said. “History repeats itself, we expect a sell-out crowd, a fantastic fight and another world title for the Viking Warrior.”

Sauerland is sure that Kessler will take out the “Dane Killer” Magee, who has stopped Mads Larsen and Rudy Markussen. “It´s up to Mikkel to restore the Danish fighting pride,” Sauerland added. “But when he is at the top of his game, nobody can stop him. His KO over Allan Green was impressive. Magee is the next in line to taste the wrath of the Viking Warrior.”

Kessler and Magee will be fighting for the regular WBA Super-Middleweight World Championship. More details will be announced at a press conference in the near future.

Maria Lindberg wants Cecilia Braekhus!

Maria Lindberg, WIBF and WIBA World Champion, wants to fight Cecilia Braekhus!

–  My last challenger I won with TKO after just 1 minute 55 seconds in the second round. Cecilia has met Goranova twice and  she had to use all the rounds to win on points against her both times.                                                                                              Today, I will watch the bout between Cecilia Braekhus and Anne Sophie Mathis. Anne Sophie is hard-hitting and it can happen that she will knockout Cecilia. If the fight will go all the rounds I think Cecilia will convience the judge.               Very much I would love to fight in Denmark and especially in Copenhagen. Against Cecilia Braekhus I am ready anytime!

Maria Lindberg is training at Viking-pro Boxing Team in Malmö with her coach Bert V. Johansson-Munk. A fight in Copenhagen with Maria would definitly bring a lot of fans from Malmö and the rest of Sweden.

Even a spectacular fight was Maria´s fight against Christina Hammer. WBF named it the Female Fight of The Year 2011!

Maria Lindberg will now fight at Hamburg Fight Night the 12th October 2012 in Wandsbeker Sporthalle, Hamburg.
